Cats Cradle has been one my favourite books I’ve read so far. The humour in the book is unique as well as dark. It is about a simple man named John who collects material with the purpose of writing about how the world came to an extraordinary and unexpected end.
This science fiction book is set in America and a fictional place, San Lorenzo, after the Hiroshima bombing in Japan. The book feels timeless because it is set in an alternate timeline.
I recommend this book to anyone who needs a refreshing break from a serious book, as well as anyone looking for a healthy dose of humor. The book outlines a fictional new religion, which is completely enticing and creative. Grade 10 to 12 students will likely enjoy this book, especially those with an open mind for weird ideas and theology.
