Catcher in The Rye is a modern classic that portrays the journey of a rebellious teenager in the adult world.
The plot follows Holden Caulfield, a 16-year-old boy who has just been expelled from his school, then goes to spend a few days on his own in New York City. During this time, Holden meets up with a various of people who have unique and interesting stories.
The book is written in first person perspective, making the story more authentic and believable. The writing style is distinct and easy to comprehend and the plot is very engaging, so this book will appeal to a wide range of readers.  I also think that the theme of alienation will resonate with many teen readers.
